The Seven Commandments of ADD Parenting
I. Honor and love your Inner Self: Forgive the past and remember
that no one is perfect - no parent, family, or child.
II. Stay strong in the face of immature behavior.
Reflect, respond, but do not retaliate.
III. Keep the long view in mind and base
daily parental decisions on your child's future need to
stand on his or her own two feet in life.
IV. Be self-aware and self-supportive: Take care of
your SELF on body, mind, and spirit (energy) levels
V. Don't argue or boss: Listen and discuss
When necessary, stand the ground
of parental power with quiet dignity.
VI. Nurture your relationships with the adults in your
life - spouse, partner, or close friends
VII. Make FUN an important family and life goal
